Bumdra Trek

  • 06 Days
  • Guided Backpacking
  • Pickup: Paro Airport

The Bumdra Trek offers a perfect blend of easy trekking around Paro with guided tours of Paro and Thimphu cities. It is the shortest trek available in Bhutan, commencing and concluding in Paro. Starting from the north of the valley and concluding at the northwest, the trek culminates at the revered Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the ‘Tiger’s Nest’, one of Bhutan’s holiest sites.

Despite the challenging ascent on the first day, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the valley and snow-capped mountains. The second day involves mostly descending, making it comparatively easier.

The journey commences with a bird’s eye view of the majestic mountain range during the flight to Paro. Spend the day exploring the vibrant city of Paro, visiting Ta Dzong and Paro Rinpung Dzong before driving to Thimphu. Enjoy a day of sightseeing in Thimphu before returning to Paro.

On the third day, embark on the trek, starting with a scenic ridge hike around Bumdra before reaching the Taktsang Monastery. Conclude the trek with a drive back to Paro.

The Bumdra Trek offers a swift immersion into the enchanting realm of the Dragon Kingdom, allowing visitors to explore Bhutan’s iconic landmarks and enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque landscape and snow-capped mountains.
